Splunk Installation and Configuration Experience 2. Splunk Administration Experience 3. Splunk Monitoring and Analysis Experience Build on top of the organization and customers existing system infrastructure with Splunk Assist internal users of Splunk in designing and maintaining production-quality dashboards Troubleshoot Splunk platform (search head, indexer, heavy, intermediate) and universal forwarder problems and issues Monitor the Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning, scalability, and optimization Work hands-on with the engineers to ensure Splunk is actively and accurately running and monitoring on the current infrastructure implementation Ability to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment Qualifications (add bullets if needed): Requires BS/BA in related discipline (i.e., Senior Engineer, Software Design and Development) 1-3 years of experience in related field (i.e., Solution Architecture Design) Will consider additional related industry experience in lieu of degree. Working knowledge and understanding of RegEx and scripting Demonstrated experience with large (1TB+) deployments of Splunk Solid understanding of logging technologies (syslog, Windows and UNIX native logging) Expert Knowledge in Splunk (Design, Implementation, Configuration, and Management) Extensive knowledge of a tier Splunk installation. Indexer, intermediate, heavy forwarder, search heads, UFs and apps. Familiar with Splunk architecture and best practices Understanding and experience in designing, scaling, implement for large volume processing Experience in Big data analytics Field extractions, summaries, accelerations and pivots Experience with Splunk UI/GUI development and operations roles Expertise in creating and customizing Splunk applications, searches and dashboards Experience working with team members in multiple site locations highly desirable Has a broad experience from either a development or operations perspective Additional Skills (add bullets if needed): Understanding and experience in designing, scaling, implement for large volume processing Experience in Big data analytics Experience in data analytics, Hadoop, MapReduce, R, visualization is a plus Knowledge of Unix/Linux commands Knowledge of IT process framework and practices (for example, ITIL) Experience working in a software engineering environment is a plus Strong communication skills and customer interfacing is a plus What is the Primary function this person is to accomplish: The Splunk Administrator will be responsible for: -Installing and configuring the Splunk software on windows virtual machines -Leading requirements and design effort to guide usage of the software -Implement monitoring within Splunk per the approved design -Maintain the Splunk software, and assist with monitoring and data analysis What is the team dynamic/personality like: A dynamic, energetic team Size of Team: First Day Responsibilities: Become familiar with the planned scope of work, and technical environment.
