Network Engineer, Jr 12 Months Pasadena CA
Position Description: Works directly with customers, vendors, and Strategic Partners in the planning, design, network analysis, configuration, and engineering of new *MPOE *and access facilities for the enterprise. Must have working knowledge of telco outside plant copper, loop electronics and fiber infrastructure. Must be versed in *Sonet Rings, Metro-E, Ethernet services, MPLS, DWDM, Voice over IP* service and other current technologies used by various carriers today. *Must have working knowledge of FCC and CPUC tariffs*. Develop options, recommendations and associated cost benefits, and provide engineering design for implementation. This person will need to be able to work/communicate effectively with the various telephone company account teams. Prefer someone with outside plant telco engineering experience, to include design of Minimum points of entry conduit infrastructure and fiber planning. Must be able to work on their own and be able to manage their own work load and willing to participate as a member of team and share ideas and knowledge. Must be able to work with various project teams and communicate with all of those project team members in a constructive way and share information and ideas. Most travel will be local within the Southern California area from Bakersfield to San Diego however some travel outside of the area may be required. Some after hours and weekend work may be required. Experience Level: 6-10 Years. Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and AutoCAD proficiently. Prefer someone with a Bachelor's degree in MIS/Computer communications or engineering.
