Title: Network Engineer
Location: St.Louis, MO
Duration: 12-24 Months

NOTE: !!Must Need GC and USC!!

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and
its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, VPN, etc.)
·Configure and setup Cisco Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security
appliances for access to vital business applications
·Must have the ability to perform configuration, IOS upgrades,
implementation and troubleshooting for LAN and WAN equipment.
.Routers: Cisco 2800, 2900, 3800, 3900, 4000, ISR, ASR, Nexus series
routers.  Ability to configure EIGRP, BGP and OSPF.  Ability to configure
WAN technologies; MPLS, Frame-Relay, VPN, MLPP, Ethernet circuits.
.WAN Optimization: All Cisco family of appliances, service modules and
software.
.Load Balancers: All Cisco family of appliances, service modules and
software.
.Switches: All Cisco Catalyst (3700, 4500, 6500, etc.) and Nexus series
switches.  Understanding of power management design for PoE devices, VLAN
configuration, trunking, spanning-tree, GRE tunneling, VRF, etc.
.Wireless: All Cisco series controllers, WiSM controllers, heavy weight &
light weight Cisco access point configuration. Ability to predictively
design wireless networks by use of various wireless tools and applications.
.VoIP: Cisco gateways, Unity Express service modules, dial peers, voice
ports (including but not limited to FXO and FXS), ISDN, voice signaling,
call routing, SRST, etc.
·Design, setup and configure complex switching environments
·Design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports
secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications
·Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking
·Assist in the design of multi-server environments including IP address
schemes, DNS, WINS, EtherChannel (Bonding), etc.
·Configuring and installing client and server network software for
upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
·Maintaining multi-site network operations and software applications,
operating systems and regular maintenance with both private and public
facilities
·Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in
accordance with established objectives.
·Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers,
site personnel and outside vendors and etc. to provide technical assistance
and support
·Supervising the administration of systems and servers related network to
ensure availability of services to authorized users.
·Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software
applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues
and restore services
·Advanced knowledge of designing, implementating and troubleshooting DMVPN,
iWAN and PfR solutions
·Must have the ability to Coordinate LAN/WAN/telecom projects for remote
sites with other Monsanto IT teams
·Must have the ability to document all project work in Microsoft Visio
·Analyzes network activity and network problems to discover and prevent
systematic errors. Recommends network design changes/enhancements for
improved systems availability and performance
·Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves network problems. Researches,
analyzes and recommends the implementation of software or hardware changes
to rectify any network deficiencies or to enhance network performance
·Analyzes facilities bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies.
Develops capacity planning models
·Ensures planned testing activities are performed and technical criteria
are met
·Knowledge of Enterprise system monitoring and management tools such as
Cisco Prime, MARS, Splunk, Solarwinds, etc.
·Knowledge of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide
network services, including: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security,
TACACS+, VPN and NAC
·Regular contact with internal and external customers and contractor
representatives involved with   LAN/WAN design, network implementation, and
network management.
·May be required to work hours other than regular schedule such as nights,
weekends and Holidays.
·Position requires 50% travel availability to the Monsanto remote locations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
·Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
·Six to ten years of relevant IT work experience.
·Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Voice Professional (CCVP),
or Wireless (CCNP Wireless), or Network Security (CCSP)
