*Next Generation Video Project Manager *
*Location: Princeton, NJ* Our client is the world-leading satellite operator. Through providing reliable and secure satellite communications solutions, SES connects and enables broadcast, telecom, corporate and government customers, and enriches the lives of billions of people worldwide. They own and operate a fleet of over 50 geostationary satellites that is complemented by a network of teleports and offices around the globe. This far-reaching infrastructure enables it to reach 99% of the world’s population. This is a three plus month contract working in Princeton. Hands on technical support and project management for the North American Next Generation Video (NGV) projects. The areas of responsibility include configuration and lab testing of new video products or technology, configuration of demonstration equipment for tradeshows and customers presentations, and technical support of NGV field trials. The current focus is in Ultra High Definition (UHD or 4K TV) and video streaming over satellite for distribution to cable and IPTV operators. *Required Experience:* IP Networking. Practical experience configuring multicast routing on Cisco switches, IPSec VPNs, DHCP services, and static routing of unicast traffic. Network configuration of Windows and Linux equipment and video equipment. Server Administration. Experience configuring network services in Linux and Windows servers, including DHCP, Web servers, and DNS. Experience with computer hardware including installation of hard drives, memory, and interface cards. Building servers from hardware to installation of the operating system is also required at times. Video processing. Hands on experience with video storage, editing, encoding, and encryption, and ability to evaluate subjective video quality. Video transport and distribution. Working knowledge of cable systems, both the QAM and the DOCSIS plant, IPTV systems, and Set Top Box (STB) programming and configuration. Video Streaming. Working knowledge of video streaming technology, including codecs, packagers, *DRM*, *AVBR*, *MPEG-DASH*, *HLS*. Applications Development.
