Role: Network Engineer Location: Smyrna, DE 19977 Duration: 10 Months *Rate: $50/hr on C2C* Duties include: Testing of hardware, peripherals and associated equipment. Independent and diligent work practices in completing work in a timely manner. Proposing new solutions to problem areas. Monitoring of work tasks, and reporting on statuses of those tasks to management. Planning and implementing redundancy to future or next generation technologies in ways that meet business needs. Perform and configure port-based, protocol-based, and MAC-based VLANs. Provide switch architecture, configuration, installation, backup/recovery, and monitoring. Perform diagnostics on switches, Command Line Interface structure. Responsible for configuring port parameters, layer-2 forwarding, and port load sharing. Should be able to configure static IP forwarding and IP routing functions. Provide and perform basic troubleshooting steps for layer-2 and layer-3 networks. Updates relevant documentation in supporting the enterprise. System documentation for troubleshooting, business continuity, and maintenance. Qualifications: The candidate should have at least 2 years experience in computer hardware implementation, troubleshooting, and support. Knowledge of Windows/Linux platform operations, hardware/software functions and capabilities. Prior experience in estimating and scheduling own work under minimal supervision. Proven track record of resolving all assigned issues in accordance with established service level agreements. Prior experience documenting configurations/processes/troubleshooting efforts. Prior experience working in a fast-paced team environment. Candidate will be required to travel in the support role throughout the state as required for ITMS site/field visits.
