*Phone and F2F* *Contract: 3-6+ month contract* Responsibilities: • Extensive experience with planning, documenting and performing upgrades and migration, setting up new database environments. • Design and plan upgrade strategies including coordination with the applications and business users. • Upgrade plans must include checklist, milestones, complete checkout, and exercised fallback procedures. • Experience in problem analysis and troubleshooting database related issues. • Provide performance tuning support to development teams for resolving issues with space usage, stored procedures, SQL Tuning and application monitoring. • Analyze and tune SQL statements and indexes; make performance recommendations to development teams. • Implement fixpacks and security patches when required. • Participate in disaster recovery exercises. Required Skills: • Understand metadata, metrics, trending, and automation. • Advanced scripting skills required. • Advise developers for best practice, rollout implementation support. • Work with vendor L2 for tuning recommendations. • Familiar with Performance Expert and OPM (Optimal Performance Manager).
