Senior Storage & Backup Engineer will be a core member of a team
accountable for the uptime and management of global SPE Enterprise Storage
and Backup Environment.



Senior Storage & Backup Engineer is responsible for the design, planning,
implementation, administration, support and optimization of the multiple
mixed enterprise class storage subsystems (SAN/NAS) and backup
Infrastructures across multiple data centers, comprised of hundreds of
heterogeneous server environment and large size data of SPE business
critical data and systems.



*Job Requirement*

•         Minimum 5 years experience with Enterprise Tier 1 Storage such as
HDS or EMC

•         Minimum 5 years experience with Modular Storage such as EMC or
ISILON.

•         Minimum 5 years experience with Fiber Switch Director such as
Brocade or Cisco MDS.

•         Minimum 3 year experience with Symantec Netbackup

•         Minimum 1 years’ experience with multi-tiered application
development required.

•         Understanding of major OLTP Database platform such as Oracle DB
and IBM DB2 is a plus

•         Experience in Systems Administration is a plus

•         Working knowledge with other systems technologies (Windows, UNIX,
Network, SAN, etc.) is a major plus.

•         Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.



Job Responsibilities



The job’s most important functions and responsibilities, and percentage of
time spent on each.

*1.                   *Storage Engineering Support: 40%



•         Install, configure, perform upgrades, and repair on the storage
subsystems from enterprise storage array to modular storage array (HDS,
EMC, FAS series)

•         Install, configure, perform upgrades, and oversee repairs on SAN
switches (Brocade SAN switches).

•         Performs data migration, updates and changes to storage software
and devices.

•         Maintain the data replication process across different data
centers.

•         Measure and monitors storage availability, response time,
utilization and other metrics as required.

•         Required to provide on-call support during off-duty hours on
weekdays, weekends and holidays on a scheduled/rotating basis.

•         Manage outages, identify root cause and resolve all server issues
within allowed service levels.



2. Backup Administration Support: 40%



•         Maintain the administrations of enterprise backups (tapes and
disk based) and data replication in multiple data centers.

•         Develop, implement, and improve Daily Operational Procedures and
Business Continuity Plans

•         Maintain data protection and disaster recovery solutions for a
variety of industry standard and in-house custom applications.

•         Take corrective action for any data back-up that does not
complete successfully

•         Provide back-up reporting statistics and the management of
back-ups

•         Develop strategy for process automation for configuration
management and monitoring functions of the back-up infrastructure

•         Maintain proper backup schedules for restore/recover data as
requested

•         Manage Data Lifecycle and Capacity Management

•         Manage outages, identify root cause and resolve all server issues
within allowed service levels.



3. IT Operations: 10%



•         Participate in the daily production meeting to report the status
of production systems.

•         Participate in the change control, production acceptance and
event management processes.

•         Participate in the development of operational procedures and
policies.

•         Provide daily monitoring and management of data back-ups to
ensure successful completion

•         Identify, resolve and escalate business issues as appropriate.

•         Manage after hours and on-call support.



4. Develop and maintain project plans for small to midsized system
projects: 5%



5. Provide oral and written status reports to IT management and customers:
5%



Education & Training Requirements:



This position normally requires:



 High School Diploma    AA    AS     BA    BS    MA    MS    PhD



 Certification/Licenses normally required :



 Other (Please list specific hardware, software, special skills, etc)



Knowledge of systems concepts.  Hands-on experience with most of the
following SPE technologies:
