Position: DB2 Programmer Location: Eagan, MN Duration: 3-4 months
Our client is seeking a DB2 Programmer for a 3-4 month contract. This individual will assist with installation, maintenance and monitoring DB2 on the Mainframe, Unix/AIX and Intel platforms. This individual will also plan, document and conduct disaster recovery tests for DB2 on the mainframe. Specific responsibilities will include: *Maintain DB2 and DB2 supporting software - installation, upgrade and migration Installation of new DB2 subsystems *DB2 subsystem monitoring and tuning on the mainframe *Work with IBM, CA and Informatica vendors in reporting and resolving software issues using their online Service Request systems *Provide DB2, Websphere and Siperian technical expertise and guidance to applications and business areas *Weekly document the DB2 on z/OS Test and Production transaction and data access activity *Documentation, processes and events for DB2 Disaster Recovery *DB2 instance monitoring and tuning on AIX *Resolving internal DB2, Websphere, DB2 Connect and Siperian system related issues Required Skills: * 7 years experience in DB2 software installation using SMP/E *7 years experience in DB2 software installation, upgrade and migration procedures on the mainframe * 7 years experience in DB2 ISV tool installation, upgrade and migration procedures *7 years experience in DB2 system problem analysis, determination, resolution and prevention * 7 years experience in proactive and reactive DB2 subsystem performance and tuning * 5 years experience using Passport Advantage to download IBM software and license keys *5 years experience understanding of DB2 Disaster Recovery processes and procedures * 5 years experience Ability to create and support DB2 instances on AIX *5 years experience Strong AIX systems administration functions *Best Regards,* *Allen Paul** *|* **ProSoft Technology Group, Inc.
