Java Developer With C/C++ Required Experience: - Mid to Senior Developer (6+ years-preferred) - Required: 3+ years of experience in C/C++ and Java development. - 2+ years of experience developing HDLC serial I/O user mode device drivers in Windows or Linux, including analysis, design, coding, debugging, and testing. - Preferred: JNI, xml, java, scripts, Linux, assembly language, extensive wireless RF development experience highly desired. Key Information: RF drive testing and in-building coverage RF optimization tool software development, C/C++, java, shell scripts, protocol development, Subversion, Visual Studios, in a Windows XP/Vista and java environment. Statement of Work: - This resource will provide software development and maintenance support for an in-house developed RF optimization, drive and in-building testing tool used by the Verizon Wireless’ network team. - The individual must be an expert software developer in a Windows and java development environment (MS C++/Visual Studios/J2EE/java jdk 1.6/Eclipse/NetBeans). - Much of the work will involve device driver development, interfacing with the handset APIs (Qualcomm/LG LTE ICD (Interface Control Document)), integration with RF scanning receivers, processing of data from the handset, capturing OTA messaging (Over The Air messages), etc., to provide Quality of Service testing and reporting for the VZW RF drive test and RF engineering teams on the 1X/CDMA, EVDO, and LTE technologies. - Maintenance development includes ensuring software release compatibility for current and next generation handsets and newer OTA messages and scanners. - Experience with mobile development using Android is also desirable. Deliverables: - Under the guidance of a senior developer and RF subject matter experts, this resource will develop software that collects, logs, displays, and alerts on data pulled from VZW handsets, RF scanners, and other sources and databases to provide wireless infrastructure analysis, benchmarking, and optimization for VZW’s 2G, 2.5G, 3G, 4G voice/data network deployments in real-time. - A mixture of software development languages will be used, such as C/C++, java, xml, depending on what is most appropriate for the task. - Real-time data retrieval methods, serial and USB data collection is required.
