Senior BI Consultant Needed for a period of six months, with the likelihood of extending out over a longer period of time. With the goal of advising, guiding, and contributing in a hands-on capacity on this BI initiative, the *senior BI consultant* should possess a strong foundation in BI, architecture, data integration and design, etc., to help achieve the company's longer-term BI and reporting objectives that includes moving toward more of a "self-service" reporting model for their users. Working with the *Cognos 8.4 suite of tools*, our client currently uses *Report Builder*. They have Framework and *Query Builder* which they'd be open to using if the consultant sees some ways in which their business and users might benefit; they are also open to considering other tools that may greatly benefit their business users in this shift to a self-service reporting model. They use Oracle for their data warehouse and Informatica for their *ETL* tool today. They are also in the process of implementing a *Sybase IQ* data warehouse to work in conjunction with their existing data warehouse environment, so any exposure at all to *Sybase IQ* would be a huge, huge plus. There is a high degree of involvement with executive management on both the technology and business sides as well as with business users and other technologists, so excellent communication and listening skills, as well as professionalism and presence are critical.
