LOCATION: NYC RATE: Open (Need per day rate) DURATION: 12 MONTHS+ *Notes from discussion with the manager:* Most of the candidates he has seen have not been senior enough. This person will be coming in to create a policy and process around release management in credit it. They should be hands on enough to do script development but also have large scale experience since credit it has over 60 Major Applications. No tools are needed since they are not planning on using any to begin with. They will start off doing analysis of 2-3 areas - use them as stage 1 to implement process and then see from that the cost of building out release management for the group. *Department Overview* The Credit Application Management team is part of Global Credit Technology, and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the operational environment, including client support, production support, production management, quality assurance and change control for the Credit Trading platform. The global Credit Application Management department consists of a global team in New York , London , Singapore , Kiev , and Tokyo . The primary responsibility will be to design and implement a functional release management process through established polices, release tools, and procedures. The role will be responsible for identifying appropriate resources needed to accomplish tasks. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manager and have relevant experience in Release Management. *Main Duties* To design and implement efficient procedures for the distribution and installation of application changes to IT systems Accountable for the overall quality of the application Release Management process To ensure that hardware and software being changed is traceable, secure and that only correct, authorized and tested versions are installed To implement new software releases into the operational environment using the controlling processes of Configuration Management and Change Management To communicate and manage expectations of stakeholders during the planning and rollout of new releases To agree to the exact content and rollout plan for the release by coordinating between Change Management, Quality Assurance, Development, and Support teams Effective Regression / rollback techniques in the event of business issues within minutes To ensure that master copies of all software are secured in the Definitive Software Library (DSL) and that the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is updated Conduct ongoing process assessment of opportunities for improvement as suggested by KPI metrics and customer feedback, keeping management updated on progress *Skills / Aptitude Required:* 5+ years experience in Release Management and/or Project Management with additional overall Testing / Quality Assurance knowledge Excellent organization skills, with the ability manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, changing environment. Strong spoken & written communication skills Excellent people skills with a proven track record of building relationships with technology stakeholders at all levels.
