Job Title : Data Center Engineer Location : Chicago, IL Duration : 12 Month CTH Rate : $55-60/hr on C2C *Skills: data center category 5 cat 5 cat 6 5e structured cabling rack and stack RU maintain documentation installation hardware server HVAC fluke multimeter shift datacenter Data Center Engineer Consultant that is experienced and knowledgeable in how to maintain a data center, including but not limited to documentation management, equipment installation, work with structured cabling systems, maintenance procedures, best practices and troubleshooting cable plant issues with Category 5, 6, Fiber Optic, etc. using test equipment. This consultant will also be responsible for providing shift turnover reports highlighting all work completed during their shift. This individual will work as part of a team in high availability and mission critical data center environments and be required to travel between Chicago and suburban data centers from time to time as needed. This position requires the consultant to be available for weekend and evening work when applicable due to project deadlines, issues, production hours of operation, etc, and must have the ability to lift equipment of 75 lbs or less into enclosures. Our client*s environment is an intense data center setting with high emphasis on communication and interaction with diverse professional staff. Successful candidates must be able to succeed in fast paced environments requiring efficiency, effective time management, and cross-regional teamwork in multiple time zones. As our client*s Data Center Engineering department evolves to meet new and changing business needs, the position responsibilities will evolve to meet these needs.
