* * *Position*: Oracle DBA *Location*: Stamford, CT *Length*: 6-12 month w/option for additional time *Start Date*: *ASAP* * * *Overview:* Client is looking for a DBA generalist, but must have experience with Oracle RMAN. This person will not be performing all of the typical duties of a DBA, focused on day to day administration of Oracle (latest versions) in support of their Trading and related applications, example; Triple Point CXL. . * **Requirements:* 1. Must have 3-5 yrs of Oracle DBA production support & operations on Unix Based Systems. 2. Must have experience with *RMAN on Oracle Database 10g/11g* 3. Solid understanding of *Oracle* experience in a production environment including: a. Database software installation, upgrade, and configuration b. Defining and implementing physical database layout (both on disk and within the database) c. Develop scripts for database task scheduling, monitoring and maintenance d. Database monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting e. Managing database security, roles, and profiles f. Managing database growth, data purging/archiving g. Managing database backups and recovery planning h. Executing disaster recovery plans i. Problem prevention, detection, and correction 4. Position requires routinely looking beyond what is requested to create greater value and process efficiency 5. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. 6. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong and effective communicator (sales oriented in approach). 7.
