One system has a single database with 1 simple table in3 environments, development, testing/quality assurance, and production. The other system also has three environments gut each environment has four databases with a couple hundred tables, some of which are environment-specific. Client operates a VMware virtual sever environment at a remote datacenter and uses windows operating systems. Upgrade SQL Server installation on 3 servers (Dev, QA, PRD) from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005. Upgrade SQL Server installation on 3 servers (Dev, QA, PRD) from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008. Review and update existing databases refresh plans for SQL Server 2008. Execute the revised database refresh plan with administrators for knowledge transfer. Review and update maintenance plans for SQL Server 2008. Review SCOM settings for SQL Server alerts with System Administrators and recommend configurations.
