*Senior Systems SAN Engineer Location: NYC,NY Duration: 6+ Months*
Senior Systems SAN Engineer to fulfill an exciting opportunity exists within our client’s Systems R&D group. You will take a lead role in projects involving concept, requirements, design, implementation, test, maintenance and technology refresh. The environment consists of a large number of servers running Solaris, AIX, RedHat Linux, Windows and an equally large SAN and NAS environment consisting of predominantly EMC, HP, Netapp, Brocade and Cisco as well software based storage solutions, DAS, object storage, cloud storage and flash arrays. This role will be responsible for system-level process improvement as well as troubleshooting operational and performance problems as required in a large-scale data center environment. Qualifications: · Must have 6+ years of experience with large SAN infrastructure (EMC, HP, Brocade and Cisco SAN switches and Netapp (NFS)) · Experience with commodity hardware running software based storage solutions · Working knowledge of low latency storage, including SSD, Flash and DRAM based storage arrays · Excellent experience with designing and managing large-scale and complex SAN/NAS storage arrays required · Must be capable of writing technical documentation, making presentations to an internal audience, interacting positively with upper management and outside vendors · Experience working with EMC PowerPath and native multipathing software on AIX, Solaris and Linux. · A solid understanding of AIX, Solaris and Linux.
