Job Title: Oracle DBA Location: Houston,TX Duration: 12+ Months Contract Rate: $50/hr on C2C Max //////// Need Local only //////// Job Description: Knowledge of database analysis, design, and maintenance. Unix and Linux Operating Systems. Supporting (VLB) Very large database leveraging (Oracle partitioning for data management is a plus). Understands infrastructure elements including performance and tuning considerations. Working knowledge of shell scripting for various operating systems. Backup and recovery experience. Knowledge of disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity. Understanding of TCP/IP networking environments Oracle 10g or higher. Experienced with building and support Real Application Clustering on Linux platform. Configuring and supporting Standby and Data Guard technology. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities that Contribute to Success May require advanced skills in one or more of the following: Oracle Data Replication, PL/SQL programming, Korn Shell programming, Oracle RAC, Data Guard. Strong problem solving and communication skills. SQL knowledge a plus. Self Motivated and multi-tasking individual that works well in a team environment. Ability to build relationships with peers and customers, Demonstrate a customer-service centered service delivery approach. Knowledge of ERP software. Proficiency with backup or monitoring tools. Project Management skills and experience working in a project-centered environment. Required Skills: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study. Five years of previous experience required. An additional four years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree and at least five years experience in database analysis, design, and maintenance or working with an Oracle server.
