*Title:* *Electrical Engineer* posted on 2013-08-08 12:30:45 *Job Description:**Role: Electrical Engineer* *Location: York, PA* *Duration: Permanent* *JOB STATEMENT* The role of the SE (Smart Equipment) Electrical Engineer shall evolve with the development of the Smart Equipment product offering. In the pre-commercialization phase, the SE Electrical Engineer shall join the SE application development team and contribute to the successful completion of the SE commercialization project. As the SE commercialization project approaches closure, the SE Electrical Engineer shall engage in knowledge transfer to the Grinding product line engineering, supply chain and field services groups and MAC Marketing and Proposal Support groups. This phase will involve hands-on effort in each area until the corresponding group can take over. The long term role of the SE Electrical Engineer is the liaison between the Grinding product line and the Smart Equipment team. In addition to supporting the marketing, engineering, supply chain and field support groups, He/She shall work with the Grinding product line engineering team to identify enhanced content for the SE Content Development team. *JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* - Near Term: Assist the SE Development Team with successful completion of the SE Commercialization project, which may involve: - Detailed design of motor control systems - Detailed design of instrumentation systems - Design and/or implementation of controls logic - Design and/or implementation of user interface graphics - Mid-Long Term: Provide support to the following groups, which will include hands-on involvement and knowledge transfer - Product Line Engineering: Customer-specific engineering drawing updates for SE orders - Product Line Supply Chain: Vendor liaison for SE products - Field Service Team: Provide training and support for SE products - MAC Marketing and Proposal Support: Provide training and support, which may include meetings with end users and marketing personnel - Long Term: In addition to above, work with the Product Line Engineering team to identify and assess the feasibility of enhanced content (functionality) and interface with SE Content Development team to assist with development of the enhanced content. - Act as liaison between the SE Organization and the Product Line Organization - *Travel (both domestic and international) may be required as needed* - Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required. *QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE* - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering - Minimum 5 years experience in motor control design - Minimum 5 years experience in PLC logic design and implementation - Minimum 5 years experience in user interface graphic design and implementation - Experience in heavy industry required - Field commissioning of motor controls and automation systems required - Customer interface experience required *SKILLS AND ABILITIES* - Excellent client management and business literacy skills. - Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results. - Manage multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Work in environment with international objectives. - Ability to understand issues domestically and internationally and communicate effectively with clients. - Be flexible and available to interact with customers as required - Be self directed and motivated. - Take initiative to identify and anticipate customer needs and make recommendations for implementation. - Familiarity with project management processes and tools. - A high level of computer skills is essential – Excel, Word and Access. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. - The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance, including long periods of standing during recruitment/job fairs.
