Job Title: Senior Test Specialist Location: Detroit, MI. Duration: 12+ months Note:(Need Local Michigan Candidates to Face to Face Interview) Rates: $45/hr on C2C and 1099. Job Description: The Senior Test Specialist will ensure the successful completion of software projects by executing software quality activities throughout the software development life cycle. The specialist is actively involved in preparation and execution testing efforts, which include test design, and authoring of test cases and defining data requirements. In addition, the test specialist will be involved in review of requirements, defect management, and other test activities. Working independently within guidelines, designs and implements software testing procedures and applications to ensure functionality and system stability for new and modified program code. Leads the testing for new applications to determine impact on existing hardware and software. Creates test plans. Determines testing strategies and provides consulting to project teams to ensure complete testing occurs. Researches testing trends and industry best practices. Documents and assists in the resolution of complex problems and issues. Extensive creativity required across areas of expertise. Qualifications: 2-4 years of experience on large test efforts as a Sr. Tester: Test planning, organizing, test design, and test execution. Development and execution of Test Strategy, Test Plan and Test Schedule. Supporting test lead by identifying risks and to develop mitigation strategies. Defect management tools and processes. Practical knowledge and experience in all phases of software QA. Testing at different levels (unit, system integration, functional and regression testing). Facilitation of User Acceptance Testing. Defining data requirements for test efforts. Data gathering for test efforts. 2 - 4 years experience with developing manual test cases. Creating manual test cases from Use cases, Functional specs and other requirement documents. Communications skills: Excellent Written and oral communication skills. Effectively communicate testing activities and findings in oral and written formats. Participate in reviews of system architecture, and design documents. Required Technologies: JAVA Oracle PL/SQL (rudimentary only required) Rational Tools helpful, but not required Informational: Testing Roles at BCBSM (Note) A Tester will be able to do the following: Manage defects. Create a test grid from requirements. Coordinate with team as requirements are managed. Build good positive and negative test cases.
