Job Title: Sr. Cognos developer Location: Itasca, IL Duration:6+ month contract *Note:Need US citizen / Green Card / EAD candidate only no H1B* Job Description: Required: Bachelor's degree 8 or more years related experience required. Extensive experience in Cognos is required. Experience in participating in analysis sessions with the user community to capture, define data requirements clearly, completely and correctly; translating business requirements and rules into conceptual and logical Cognos framework model. Understanding of operational and analytical BI requirements, strong knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database architectures Excellent data analysis skills using SQL. Experience in designing and implementing intuitive analytical solutions, business scorecards and management dashboards, using visualization techniques Proficiency in conducting Cognos Administration, Cognos installs and fix pack upgrades Expertise in managing and troubleshooting Cognos Content store Expertise in developing complex relational and DMR Framework Manager models, establishing column and row level security, maintaining data sources, building packages, managing folders, and implementing parameter maps Expertise in developing and performance tuning of reporting queries against relational and OLAP data sources Expertise in managing Cognos BI portal, including advanced techniques and utilization of Cognos SDK and JavaScript. Experience with Transformer, and PowerPlay; script automation of the cube builds from a command line based on the ETL completion Knowledge of any of the following is a plus: Experience in TM1 and Cognos EP Integrating Cognos with Microsoft BI tools Master Data Management MS Sharepoint Building reporting solutions in the insurance industry Ability to work collaboratively with team members to design and maintain Cognos BI architecture that will allow the business intelligence and data warehouse solutions to evolve with the business ................................................................................................................
