Department of Natural Resources is seeking to acquire the temporary services of two or three database & applications programmers to provide application support to the agency for a variety of financial, administrative and scientific applications. These positions will develop procedures to process agency telephone, credit card and other invoices by Division and program and assign to the appropriate DNR accounts in the SC Enterprise Information System (SCEIS), design administrative tools to manage licensing and titling privileges and customer records and generate status reports, modify/convert existing COBOL and PL/SQL code to MVC/.NET. Approximately 120 programs and subroutines have been identified that require modification or conversion. Develop programs to support various scientific data processing projects including freshwater fisheries and hydrologic/geologic well database management. The following specific duties and responsibilities have been identified for this position at the SC DNR. REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE): 1. Extensive knowledge of and experience with database and applications programming concepts and languages (especially Microsoft ASP.NET MVC, C#, Javascript and other relevant programming languages and scripting tools). 2. Extensive knowledge of relational data base management system structures and schema design including the appropriate implementation of database security protocols into program code. 3. Good oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with users for needs gathering, end user testing and training. PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE): 1. Extensive knowledge of enterprise information systems development involving the integration of tabular, statistical, electronic records management and web-based technologies. 2. Knowledge of Oracle relational database management systems and PL/SQL programming/scripting language 3.
