The Network and Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting a SC Agency's computer systems. The Network and Systems Administrator designs and installs LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems, and network segments. Primary responsibilities of the Network and Systems Administrator: * Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems. * Maintain system efficiency. * Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together. * Troubleshoot problems reported by users. * Make recommendations for future upgrades. * Maintain network and system security. * Analyze and isolate issues. * Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users. * Evaluate and modify system's performance. * Identify user needs. * Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security. * Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations. * Design and deploy networks. * Perform network address assignment. * Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration. * Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services. * Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers. * Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways and intrusion detection systems. * Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, software deployment and security updates JOB REQUIREMENTS Qualifications and Experience requirements of the Network and Systems Administrator: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field a plus * Industry Certifications a plus such as: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); CompTIA Network+. * Minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience as an Administrator on a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technologies. * Experience directly related to deploying, building, designing, optimizing, and maintaining Microsoft products such as: Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2/2012; Active Directory, GPO; DHCP, DNS; Microsoft Exchange Server; Updates/Upgrades/Patching; IIS. * Demonstrated experience of Switches, Routers and Firewall configuration. Experience configuring VPNs for remote access. * Experience in backup and disaster recovery. * Safety awareness & commitment at the workplace. * Interpersonal: Capacity to develop good working relationships with superiors & work colleagues within the organization. * Problem Solving: Perform troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations. Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning. * Self-Management: Able to adjust priorities in a changing work environment. Must be able to work without direct supervision. * Communication: Excellent communication skills are required to function. * Technical: Server Performance Tuning, Solid Knowledge of SQL, MS .NET, Network Performance Tuning, LAN Knowledge, and Network Design & Implementation.
