*Job Title: Java Architect* *Location: Chicago, IL* *Duration: 6+ month Contract* Job Description The Systems Team for a custom application supporting treasury management, money movement, and fraud prevention functions for Northern Trust clients is seeking an experienced developer / technical lead. The application is comprised of a J2EE front-end with extensive batch processing via UNIX and Mainframe. Strong Java, UNIX and SQL / Sybase skills are required. Light Mainframe experience is desired, but is not a requirement. The engagement is expected to last approximately 6 months with the possibility of extension. This role will involve application design / architecture, development, and occasionally break / fix support. Requires an extensive knowledge of application and infrastructure systems architecture, excellent consultative and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with IT management and staff. Position requires strong analytical abilities. *Technical Skills* UNIX OS (Solaris) and scripting Java J2EE Spring MVC Sybase / SQL Oracle Web logic HTML/JSP JavaScript Mainframe (desired, not required): COBOL, JCL, Syncsort.
