We are looking for Ruby on Rails Software Engineers to drive the
development of application projects for global expansion.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated backend web
developer to join the growing product development team.
This Software Engineer will work with Program Managers, Business Analysts,
and other IT staff to understand requirements, and develop and modify
existing applications built on Ruby on Rails.
The Software Engineer must have considerable experience in a fast-paced,
dynamic environment and demonstrate a high degree of ownership and
accountability.
Experience with eCommerce, Large Scale Web Properties, complex integration
projects, middleware, as well as web service projects is desired.

*Responsibilities:*
•This developer's primary responsibility will be to Client the groundwork
for the Rails-based infrastructure and take the lead in developing the web
platform for managing auction creation, scheduling, invitations and social
sharing.
•The individual will work closely with product management to prioritize and
implement new features, and also work hand in hand with other front- and
backend developers as well as interface with patented auction server
technology.

*Qualifications:*

*•Extensive Ruby, JRuby and Java knowledge (3+ years for each)•Familiarity
with MVC frameworks such as Rails and Spring*
•Experience developing highly optimized database applications based on
Oracle or MySQL
•Excellent communication, collaboration and problem solving skills
•The motivation to go the extra mile, where necessary

*Highly Desirable*
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent

*•Experience in client-side web technologies (e.g. HTML5, Javascript, CSS)
•Experience using memcached and Lucene/SOLR*
•Linux system admin experience, particularly in Cloud environments (i.e.
Amazon Cloud Services)
•Prior startup experience
•Familiarity with social networking sites and best practices for
integrating with them
