Specific duties are outlined below in the task list. Tasks: Assisting developers, analysts and designers in the maintenance of software programs and applications, primarily focused on Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle Forms development involving several significant enhancements to the Division of Waste Management’s Storage Tank & Contamination Monitoring (STCM) system Performing application refactoring and migration for Classic ASP applications that are transitioning to the Windows 2012 Server environment Provide ongoing support for applications that support the Department’s permitting, compliance and enforcement activities. Assisting in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications Research and document requirements of program users Writing, translating and coding software programs and applications according to specifications. Assisting in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines. Working with network administrators, systems analysts and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems. Providing mentoring and guidance to junior programmers Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Required: 7+ years’ experience in the following technologies: Oracle PL/SQL Oracle Forms Classic ASP Additional Required KSAs: Ability to be creative, to use sound judgment, and to display foresight to identify potential problems and design/specifications and assigned application software systems Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to work independently Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in Java Frameworks such as Struts/Tiles, Struts 2, Servlets/JSP, JPA/Hibernate 3+ years’ experience in XML, HTML and CSS Excellent understanding of the goals and objectives of supporting applications in an enterprise Information Technology application maintenance environment Familiarity with Agile development practices, specifically SCRUM and Kanban.
