*Please send resume to s...@cncconsulting.com <s...@cncconsulting.com> * Job Title: Oracle DBA Location: Schenectady (near Albany), NY Duration: 24 Months Direct Client Position Rate: $50-55/hr on C2C Note: need name of school and year graduated Duties will include Assist the Database team with various ongoing tasks, including but not limited to database installation, configuration and hardening, backup validation, performance tuning, replication setup, and general database monitoring, as well as recommend best practices and procedures; Install, upgrade and maintain Oracle 11g database on AIX, including backup and recovery; Allocating storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system; Work with teams of application programmers, system architects to create solutions to meet business goals; Perform off-hours (evening or weekend work) as needed for emergency or maintenance tasks that are performed during the agency established maintenance windows; Provide support for internal users and external data exchange partners; Perform optimization and tuning activities, including capacity planning, tracking historical usage, trending future resource needs, and modifying resource allocations as needed; Provides recommendations on technical architecture; Provides recommendations on Oracle Advance Security including TDE, Oracle Wallet and remote authentication; Provides hands-on training and mentoring for other database administrative staff. Required Skills 7 yrs experience as Oracle DBA in AIX/Unix environment 7 yrs of experience with database compliance, security, and auditing including Oracle Advanced Security, remote authentication, Oracle wallet configuration. 5 yrs of experience with implementations, upgrades, conversions and consolidation projects involving Oracle databases 3 yrs experience in Oracle database, character set conversion to unicode and migration on different platforms; 3 yrs experience with database connection pooling, and use of Oracle DBMS packages for auditing 3 yrs experience with Oracle WebLogic application servers and application authentication configuration. 3 yrs experience with use of third party tools for connecting Oracle databases to SQL Server databases. 3 yrs months experience with SQL and PL/SQL scripting. 3 yrs months experience in shell scripting environments (for example: C, Korn, Bourne, Bash) 2 yrs months experience in writing technical documentation that provides a record of tasks performed and how to support and implement them in the future.
