Job Description:

ORACLE Designer Developer Consultant needed for six month plus contract in a
friendly, fast-paced environment for an expanding international company;
opportunity to extend your business knowledge working with prestigious
clients and complex financial instruments in a technologically advanced
setting.



*DESCRIPTION OF ROLE*

The ORACLE Designer/Developer will be responsible for assisting the analysis
and documentation of the existing data warehouse application, the re-design
of conceptual, logical and physical architecture to meet current and
emerging requirements and the implementation of the new physical
architecture together with the design and implementation of data load and
ETL processes. The designer/developer will report to and receive direction
from the Oracle Technical Lead and IT project manager but will be expected
to work largely unsupervised on a day to day basis and must therefore be
possessed of sufficient presence and gravitas to enable productive
interaction with high activity business colleagues.



*TECHNICAL EXPERTISE*

   - Comprehensive, expert knowledge of Oracle 8i/9i/10g Database
   - Implementation experience with ETL concepts and tools such as
   Oracle Data Integrator/Informatica
   - Knowledge of Data Warehouse architecture (Kimball, Inmon, etc.) and
   ability to design and implement physical Star Schemas
   - Design and develop the architecture (design * conceptual * logical *
   and physical representations) for all data warehousing components (e.g. tool
   integration strategy; source system data ETL strategy, data staging,
   movement and aggregation; information and analytics delivery; and data
   quality strategy);
   - Intimate knowledge of Oracle tuning is an absolute requirement for the
   Oracle data warehouse because of the huge amounts of data and the
   requirements for fast response time for the decision support components of
   the data warehouse
   - Experienced in design of physical data models for multi-generation,
   full life cycle Data Warehouse;
   - Experienced in analysis of source system data structures and mapping
   them to target data warehouse schemas;
   - Experienced in the creation of physical Database objects including fact
   tables, dimensions, staging, materialized views, indexes in accordance with
   logical data model provided by DW functional leads;
   - Ability to support both logical and physical design work associated
   with data warehouses;
   - Good understanding of data warehousing project life cycle, especially
   tasks within the ETL phase
   - Experienced in shell scripting

·         Reporting platforms like OBIEE/Crystal Reports will be preferred



*EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS*

·         Bachelor's degree or higher in computing or computing equivalent

·         10+ years experience in data warehouse design & development

   - Ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment

·         Excellent organizational and communication skills; fluent spoken
and written English

·         Self motivated, innovative and analytical

·         Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·         Dynamic personality and enthusiastic

·         Pro-active attitude and willingness to make suggestions for
constructive improvement

·         5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, hedge fund
services or other major financial institution
