*Interview mode: Phone.Job Description:*We are seeking a talented software developer with a good mix of front end user interface and backend Java skills. The primary responsibility of this developer will be to create a new GUI that catalogs and manages content contained in our corporate data lake. This role also requires the developer to create an automated process that updates the catalog and to create the software interfaces needed to retrieve data from the lake. The developer must be able to translate high-level requirements into interactive flows and artifacts and then transform them into intuitive and functional user interfaces. The ideal candidate will be skilled in the latest user interface technologies and be comfortable working in a highly collaborative, fast paced Agile development environment. *Skills and Experience* - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field *- 3+ years industry development experience with creating GUIs using Java and open source web applications* - 3+ years industry development experience on the Linux operating system - Demonstrated and strong knowledge of the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies - Demonstrated and strong experience with XML, JSON, SQL, DB2, Oracle - Experience working with Hadoop, HDFS, Map Reduce, Avro, HBASE, Sqoop and Oozie technologies is strongly preferred - Industry experience working on Agile development projects - Experience working with Kafka, Elasticsearch, REST, Gradle, and Microsoft Team Foundation Server is beneficial - Experience writing technical requirements, design, and testing documents - Ability to take ownership of multiple issues while continuing to deliver high quality results that are aligned with project deliverables - Eagerness to experiment with and apply new technologies - Strong analytical and problem solving skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills The top skill for these two roles is strong knowledge of the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies. Candidates will need 3+ years of experience creating GUIs using Java and open source web applications. *Other skills needed:* 1. XML, JSON, SQL, DB2, Oracle. 2. Any experience in two+ of the following skills is preferred: Hadoop, HDFS, Map Reduce, Avro, HBASE, Sqoop and Oozie. 3.
