*.Job Description:*C++ Application Migration
The client requires assistance with migration of multiple C++ applications
from a “legacy” environment to a new, modern environment. Team setup would
be 2 c++ specialists full-time at the client-site in NY with Director
oversight






*Skills required: Probably 2 profiles from a technical skills standpoint -
Some candidates may cover both. We’ll consider candidates with strength in
just one or breadth across both.- C++ - Unix/Linux platform- STL, Boost-
Build automation : Autotools, make, unix script, perl, python - strength in
this area is particularly important to do the work- C++ unit testing :
GUNIT GMOCK or others*
- Evidence of familiarity with Continuous Integration : Jenkins, TeamCity,
or others
- Evidence of working in an Agile environment
- C++ Windows
- MFC and possibly Win32 User Interface coding
- Experience with WPF may also be required
- MS Build automation
- C++ unit testing : GUNIT GMOCK or others
- Evidence of familiarity with Continuous Integration : Jenkins, TeamCity,
or others
- Evidence of working in an Agile environment

*From a Domain skills perspective:*
- Basic understanding of electronic equities trading
- Ideally: experience with FIX messaging, equity order management

*Additional “Nice to have” Items to look out for:*
- Source code management tools : git, svn, cvs, perforce
- Documentation / Modelling : UML, Rational Rose

*Main role responsibilities: (provide overview of the role and duties
required)*
- Analyze existing application components - learn and document
functionality and non-functional requirements where required
- Define an approach for porting components to a standardized build-stack
(possibly Gradle and/or autotools - TBC) on CentOS

*Linux and Windows*
- Perform development work required to port, and in some cases re-develop,
application components
- perform unit, integration testing, and support QA testing
- Develop build documentation as required.*.*
