The application will be essential to the JayC warehouse conversion project. Work will include both design and construction of new software in a cloud foundation using Java / AngularJS. This role will be for a Senior Java Developer, working on a team situated in Blue Ash, Ohio. The application consists of Desktop and Mobile solutions that will provide Kroger warehouse associates with a world class experience. This is a new and exciting environment with an innovative culture and the opportunity to have a major impact on the future of Kroger Supply Chain and Distribution Centers. *Essential Job Functions: * · Lead and participate in the design and implementation of large and/or architecturally significant applications. · Champion company standards and best practices. Work to continuously improve software delivery processes and practices. · Build partnerships across the application, business and infrastructure teams. · Develop programming specifications. Design, code and unit test application code using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices. · Complete estimates and work plans collaboratively for design, development, implementation and rollout tasks. · Create technical system documentation and ensure that this documentation remains current throughout all phases of the SDLC. · Communicate with the appropriate teams to ensure that assignments are managed appropriately and that completed assignments are of the highest quality. · Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. *Requirements:* · In-depth experience with web development standards and best practices to build efficient cross-browser web applications from mockups. · Demonstrated experience with 12 Factor applications built for cloud platform. · Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies and pair programming. · Demonstrated experience with developing Java RESTful web services in an enterprise production environment. · Demonstrated experience with unit and performance testing of Java web services (JUnit). · Demonstrated experience with Spring web services and core Spring concepts (AOP). · Demonstrated experience in creating and utilizing REST web service clients. · Demonstrated experience in the mechanisms of enterprise software development including source control, repositories, Wikis, continuous integration and the like. · Demonstrated experience with javascript libraries, ideally angular.js. · Demonstrated experience designing and architecting scalable and resilient enterprise software. · Should have working knowledge of: Java, Java Script, AngularJS, J2EE, SQL, PL/SQL, JSF, MQ, Spring Boot, Spring Data, IntelliJ, Maven, JUnit, Eclipse. · Demonstrated experience with NOSQL databases (SOLR, Cassandra). *Desired Skills:* Familiarity with Cloud Foundry, Joyent. - Familiarity with Database Management and/or modeling skills. · Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, GIT and Stash, Team City. · Willingness and availability to be a part of a 24/7 production support team on a rotating basis.
