*Job Title: **Windows Server Migration Specialist* *Primary Skill: Windows Admin* *Duration: 1 month * *# of Positions: 1 * *Position Type: Contract * *Location: Melville, NY* *Job Description* Windows Server Upgrade and Migration of Applications on Windows Servers to upgraded servers As a Windows Server Migration Specialist, you will be a key player in the Server Migration team that helps discover and define the problem statement, evaluates the solution options, makes recommendations and Implement the solution. You will create detailed design, architecture and process artifacts and implement the Server Migration plan. You will also support knowledge transfer with the objective of providing value-adding consulting solutions that enable our clients to meet the changing needs of the global landscape. *Desired Skills & Experience* - Require Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required. Will also consider one year of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education.” - Experience with administration and configuration for Windows Server 2003 / 2008 R2 / 2012, plus experience with server migration and cloud migration - Good overall knowledge of Windows Server roles and features - Good experience in understanding windows server based application, its dependency and recommend migration strategy - Experience in application information validation and compatibility assessment using tools like Dell ChangeBASE / CITRIX AppDNA. - Compatibility report analysis and recommend preferred migration methodology from a technology perspective - Experience in standard Windows Server Production, Development and QA environments - Knowledge of Microsoft Technologies like Active Directory, Domain Services, DNS, Exchange, SharePoint, DHCP Services. - Experience in Database Servers SQL, Oracle, MYSQL etc. - Experience in IIS Servers and Web deploy tool. - Knowledge of COTS and Custom Windows Applications - Experience in PowerShell / Scripting - MCSE or higher level Microsoft Certifications are strongly preferred - Experience in executing defined post migration QA checklist. - Ability to interact with vendors, technology experts, and application users during the development and testing process - Strong migration issue troubleshooting skills - Self-starter with high energy and drive to meet the needs of a demanding customer environment. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with both customer and Infosys resources. *Preferred* - Experience in performing installation of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 / 2012 R2. - Experience in analyzing server application inventory reports - Experience in creating MSI using MSI Studio for application compatibility testing - Experience in applying patches, handle server upgrades, user permissions and administration. - Provide migration services and support for Windows Server Platform - Perform Windows Server migration to target state.
