*Position: Sr. UNIX Engineer * *Location: Fort Worth, TX* *Duration: 6-12 Months+* *Local Candidates preferred!!!* *JOB DESCRIPTION:* The Unix engineer will be responsible for the configuration, patching, upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting of UNIX (Solaris/RHEL) operating systems. The engineer will participate in agile departmental projects including the development of project plans, documentation, and performing of project tasks. Additional responsibilities include user account management, performance monitoring/tuning and backup/recovery. *JOB REQUIREMENTS:* • Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the systems including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management • Knowledge and hands on experience with FTP and secure FTP • Knowledge and hands on experience with DNS, name services and general networking configurations • SNMP knowledge in respect to setting up monitoring and alerting for Unix/Linux systems • Shell and Perl scripting capability • System performance and capacity planning • Works under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions • Tests new release levels of existing products to insure compatibility and minimize user impact • Advanced knowledge of Solaris 10/11 virtualization methods • Knowledge of Siteminder (SSO) & BigIP (load balancing) is preferred • Knowledge in VMWare Hypervisor 5.x • Experience in Puppet Labs/Automation • Supporting applications/DB like SAP/Oracle *THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:* • 7 years’ experience with Oracle/Sun servers • 7 years’ experience with Solaris 10/11 administration • 5 years’ experience with LDOM/Zones/Containers • 5 years’ experience with setting up and supporting clustering software (i.e. VCS or Oracle) • 5 years LINUX (RHEL 5/6) experience • 5 years with Unix/Linux scripting • 5 years’ experience in setting up new enterprise level environment (not operational support) • 5 years’ experience supporting Middleware software such as Websphere or Weblogic • 3 years’ experience with ZFS filesystems • 3 years’ experience with Solaris Volume Manager *EDUCATION: *B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent required. *MUST HAVE:* • CA Siteminder *and 2 Yrs. • DNS and 2 Yrs. • F5 Load Balancing and 2 Yrs. • Perl and 5 Yrs. • Puppet and 2 Yrs. • Shell Scripting and 5 Yrs. • Solaris and 3 Yrs. • Solaris 10 * and 3 Yrs. *Gurjant (Gary) Singh | **Technical Recruiter* t 925.297.5994 | f 1.925.406.0505 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP Resource Center" group.
