Job Title: ETL Developer, IT Application Development

Reports to: Development Manager, IT Application Development



 *BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:*



This Developer position is responsible for performing complex programming
and system design tasks to support the business systems. Activities include
designing, developing, testing, documenting, implementing and maintaining
software applications.  In addition the position requires the ability to
lead more junior programmers to accomplish tasks and serve as a technical
lead in larger development projects.



 In addition to other assigned duties, developers have these Primary Duties
and Responsibilities:



·         To encourage everyone to take the initiative to solve problems so
that we are all working together to make things better.

·         Be aware of how our organization and clients work, what their
values are, and what is both important and not important for success. When
a ball is dropped, a senior developer will do what   they can to pick it
up. The phrase “this is not my job” is never, ever said in those situations.

·         To ensure the features developed are produced to the highest
possible quality in the fastest possible time.



-Responsible for the creation and execution of Code Unit Test cases for
each coding assignment.

-Perform tasks according to and in support of the Software Development
Life-Cycle (SDLC).

-Responsible for solving technical problems for a project. Software coding
is the primary responsibility.

-Understands complex programming techniques including, but not limited to,
database connectivity, programming languages, standards, methods and tools.

-Provide system level analysis, design, and documentation in support of
programming tasks assigned.

-Actively coordinate tasks with other developers, Application Development
team members, non-IS team project members or third parties to resolve
issues and ensure the proper flow of     information to the project team
and Application Development management.

-Coordinate development timelines with outside resources to ensure that the
project requirements and goals are achieved.

-Responsible for communicating the status of tasks assigned to the Manager
of the project.

-Actively participate in and lead team meetings to communicate development
methods to the applications development team in an effort to share
knowledge.

-Actively participate in and lead code reviews to assist other team members
with potential trouble areas and to ensure that we are producing the
highest quality software.

-Identify processes or procedures within Application Development and in the
greater organization that could become more efficient and communicate the
information to the management team.

-Conform to company safety and security policies and practices, and promote
a secure and safe work environment. Full compliance with Direct Group
policy and procedures is a non-negotiable requirement for this and all
positions

-Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

-Comprehensive knowledge and development experience in:

Oracle database and related tools

ETL tools, preferably Jitterbit

T-SQL or PL/SQL

-Ability to communicate and work effectively with others, especially
non-technical users, and utilize persuasion and teamwork relationships.

-Communicate with external resources to coordinate development efforts to

*Position Details*



Data Warehouse Senior Business Analyst including the following:

CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUATED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

*Required Skills*

·         5-10 Years Project Lead/Business Analyst (BA) Experience

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to work with end users/customers to understand and
develop requirements

·         Ability to facilitate customer requirements gathering
meetings/sessions

·         Experience with Requirements Traceability

·         Analyze project requirements and develop detailed specifications
for reporting requirements

·         BA Experience with State of Michigan and/or Department of
Community Health business areas including Medicaid/Medicare or Healthcare
related IT background.

·         Experience with development of test data and test scenarios



*Preferred but not Required Skills (the higher on the list the more
preferred)*

·         BA Experience on a Data Warehouse project environment

·         Experience with JAD and Agile methodologies

·         Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with
programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users,
operations, other State agencies and the private sector.

·         Meet with users for clarification and elaboration as may be
necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan.

·         Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw
conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and
make appropriate recommendations.

·         Working with the Data Modelers and developers, facilitate
modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited
to the reporting needs of the customer.

·         Ability to design applications taking into consideration data
reconciliation, (to the source system) query/reporting performance, and
analytical business value.

·         Needs to be able to work independently and not rely on State or
other team members

·         Experience with the State of Michigan PMM/SUITE methodology

·         Experience with Teradata SQL Assistant

·         Experience with Data Cleansing



Senior SQL Server DBA  *USC,GC*

Ann Arbor, MI

6 months Contract to Hire

GC/USC/EAD

Database Administrator



*Duties*



·         Install and configure new SQL Servers

·         Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including
after-hours and weekends

·         Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms

·         Deploy database change scripts provided by customers and third
party vendors

·         When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way
to increase performance including hardware purchases,  server configuration
changes, or index/query changes

·         Document the company’s database environment

·         Test backups to ensure we can meet the business’ Recovery Time
Objectives (RTO)

·         Work on daily customer request and projects
