A) “Traditional Release Manager” type who will coordinate the release/deployment activities into our QA and Production environment. Skills: Highly Organized Communicates simply & effectively Can explain SDLC cycle. Understands the various QA phases in the SDLC and gating criterion between phases. Understands build & deploy technologies. Can explain them. Can articulate effectively the purpose of Release Management in the Enterprise. Understands and could design an effective versioning system. Be prepared to explain this. Has facilitated release management across disparate application teams that don’t talk to each other normally. Be able to come up with examples of how you have done this effectively. Can document processes, check-list. Understands the “stack” that they are responsible for supporting from a release management perspective (code, server type, describe interfaces, describe configuration challenges) Sense of urgency about meeting deadlines. Not shy to chase people, sit at their desks to get the answers they need.
