Title: Clinical QA Data Analyst

*Minimum Entry Requirements:*

*Area of Study:   Pharmacy, Laboratory Medicine, or Health Related Field*

*Years of Experience:*   2 years

*Type of Experience*:    A minimum of 2 years’ recent practical healthcare
experience required in clinical pharmacy or nursing (clinical microbiology,
laboratory, public health, pharmacy).



*Laboratory:* Experience must include routinely reading gram stains,
isolating human pathogens from clinical specimens, identifying the species
and performing susceptibility testing.  Knowledge and training of general
chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis is necessary



*Pharmacy:* The pharmacy technician could be considered but would need 3-5
years’ related experience to be comparable to those with the bachelor’s
degree and 2 years’ experience.  This experience can include preparation,
dispensing or administration of medications.

Area of Responsibility

*90% Error Mapping, QAs, Support and Research Work*

•        Using laboratory, pharmacy and medical knowledge and clinical
expertise, map and complete QAs skillfully and accurately

•        Perform QA of other data consultants work

•        Research clinical procedures and information using internet
sources such as Google, ARUP, etc.

•        Research problems by drilling down into detailed patient data to
verify integrity of the data

•        Resolve errors, omissions or discrepancies in data with consultant

•        Collaborate with team members (interface engineers, Sr. Clinical
consultants, and management) regarding mapping, QA problems and solutions

•        Compose emails to hospital contacts and consultants concerning QA
issues

•        Clearly articulate information to interface engineers, hospital
contacts, supervisor, etc.

•        Senior resource – Assists others in mapping & QA issues

•        Able to assess and map implementing hospitals’ data quickly and
efficiently

•        May represent the clinical staff on committees outside the
clinical arena.  Is willing to function on committees outside the clinical
team, e.g., Quarterly Operations meeting planning; facilitator at Values
Conferences; serve on a Values Team planning committee; team member on
special project teams; team member on ad hoc committees.

•        Demonstrates project management skills

*5% Training New Clinical and/or Operations Analysts*

•        Developing training materials and enhancing and updating
presentation for trainees

•        Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to new employees

•        Mentor new employees in regards to pharmaceutical related mappings

•        Senior resource for new employees

*5% Administrative*

•        Set up meetings with hospital personnel for new installation which
includes: scheduling, coordinating with appropriate

•        Attend departmental meetings to remain current on issues and
procedures
