Features are being migrated to Production in a staggered approach based upon regions. There is additional scope to augment with mobile application functionality. Job Summary WPP Performance team is looking for candidates who have experience and are passionate about reviewing software design & architecture. preparing Test plans, designing workload based on Web Trends, running Performance tests, analyzing the results, identifying bottlenecks, characterizing problems, and providing performance tuning recommendation. We are seeking candidates who have worked on large scalable systems and have hands on experience with Java Garbage Collection tuning on various versions of Java implemented on Websphere, Weblogic or Jboss. Consulting experience is a Big plus. This candidate needs to have adequate knowledge of HP Performance Center or Load runner for simulation of end-user workload. However, he/she is not expected to script. Most candidates will have a performance-related specialty at different levels of the technology stack such as application, OS, DB, Systems, Storage, I/O, hardware. For WPP, the candidate should possess strong Websphere, Web Services, OS fundamentals, and passion to solve puzzles with performance test metrics, so as to characterize performance improvement or degradation. Essential Responsibilities and Duties · Supports performance goals for the project · Participate in design and architectural discussions and advise architecture group on items that impacts performance and remediation, if any. · Identify workload for each feature that is planned for a release by using Web Trend data. · Design workload by communicating with business, identify data needs , identify risks and create test plan · Written and oral Communication skills are a key as the candidate represents the Performance team. · Leadership skills are needed as the candidate represents Team in technical discussions, Go/Nogo decision points, and presenting the performance findings and justifying recommendations. · Lead performance test execution for Baseline, Stress and Longevity. · Troubleshoot to identify the cause of transaction failures during test and engage appropriate development teams for resolution. · Collect metrics from Front and Backend infrastructure to prepare analysis report identifying the transactions taking longer duration and suggest solutions for remediation. · Monitor and Tune GC for several JVMs running on heterogeneous platform such as Solaris, zLinux and AIX · Prepare performance report which will be published for various stakeholders and make recommendation to meet the SLA. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years experience in IT industry with minimum of 5 years in performance with at least 3 years hand on experience in Performance Analyst role on large scalable systems with the following technical skills o 3 to 5 years in Shell, Perl scripting o 5 years of OS knowledge and tuning on heterogeneous systems such as AIX ,Solaris 10, SUSE Linux , RH Linux. o Knowledge of J2EE with emphasis on GC tuning and JVM clustering o Hands on experience with Websphere 6.1/7.0 (Application Server and Portal). Preferred but can consider other Vendors Weblogic and Jboss o Working knowledge of SOA and web services on zLinux platform o Oracle DB performance analysis o Familiarity with Load execution tools like Performance Center Load Runner 9 – Vugen, LR Analysis. Scripting is not essential but a plus · Proficient with Monitoring tools o Vmstat, Netstat, Iostat, NMON, ESAR,ksar o Sitescope o Application Monitoring - Tivoli ITCAM, Foglight, GC analysis tools, Wily Introscope. · Experience with Mobile application performance tuning is a plus · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Good Leadership skills. · Personable and diplomatic team player, with the ability to work well in a team environment · Ability to define and distill detailed functional and non-functional technical requirements · Detailed knowledge of prototyping, performance testing and benchmarking of third party product integration Thanks & Regards, Moiz Khan Allied Informatics Inc.
