You will be part of a larger group that ensures the proper operation of the IT infrastructure that supports a mission critical Department of Homeland Security (DHS) application. The environment consists of a blend of technologies including local and wide area networks, high availability (clustering and data replication), server farms using Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems, and storage area networks. Architecture consists of a mix of Sun T5120, M3000, M5000 servers and 7310 storage array, Hitachi USP-VM SANs, Dell 1750 Windows servers, Dell 1950 Windows servers, Cisco 6509 switches and load balancers, Cisco 525 PIX firewalls, Brocade 5100 and 7500 fiber channel switches, and a Sun StorEdge SL500 tape system. Seeking a Project Manager to coordinate the move and integration of equipment into a new data center. Responsible for the overall management of the specific task order(s) and ensuring that the technical solutions and schedules in the task order are implemented in a timely manner. Performs enterprise-wide horizontal integration planning and interfaces with other functional systems. *Accountable for all project deliverables, performing and leading the team in tasks such as:* · Coordinate receipt of hardware and software, including inventory, coordination with government property custodians, and resolution with vendors. · Create project, engineering and transition plan. · Assemble and integrate hardware and software on site. · Conduct test and verification of functionality of assembled systems, including coordination with government test and acceptance. · Update documentation inventory, as-built configuration, and test results. · Coordinate with data center staff and equipment vendors for installation. · Integrate installed systems with data center infrastructure. · Ensure on-line synchronization and preparation for bringing configured systems into production. · Test and verify all systems at new data center location including coordination with data center processes, and government test and acceptance. · Document final as-built configuration and all test results. · Coordinate ongoing support after deployment. · Lead/participate in all project meetings which include the government. · Plan and execute shutdown of extraneous equipment after deployment. *Required Skills and Experience:* · At least 4 years of large complex operational system experience. · Demonstrated proficiency in IT project management. · Competency in the use of Microsoft Project (2010) · Ability to leverage interpersonal skills and technical knowledge to bring people and ideas together to perform effectively. · Must be a team player and willing to follow directions, as well as take initiative to lead a team · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Must be able to obtain a DHS Public Trust Suitability.
