*Senior Data Warehouse Developer: Cognos *Currently seeking exceptional
individuals to join the business intelligence/data warehouse team. This is
an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled team and contribute to a
critical and highly visible project within the executive office of health
and human services.
We are seeking self-starters who are highly motivated, efficient,
professional, communicative and able to contribute to the team on day one.
Working under the general direction of the Department Director the Senior
Cognos Architect will join the existing Data Warehouse team and will
participate in the implementation of Cognos architecture and upgrades,
conduct review of Cognos infrastructure, administration of the Cognos
environment, performance tuning, development of framework manager models,
reports, cubes, dashboards and the design and implementation of overall BI
solutions.


*Responsibilities include:*

Develops and enhances a data warehouse environment which includes data
design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation.

Provides direction and guidance to less experienced team members. Reviews
data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy.

Responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of an enterprise
data warehouse system and corresponding data marts.

Troubleshoots and tunes existing data warehouse applications.

Conducts research into new data warehouse applications and determines
viability for adoption.

Assists in establishing development standards.

Provide guidance to existing team members new to Cognos and function as a
mentor to junior developers/architects/analysts

Work with business uses and executives to gather requirements for reporting
needs and dashboards

Evaluates existing subject areas stored in the data warehouse.

Incorporates existing subject areas into an enterprise model.

Creates new or enhanced components of the data warehouse.

The responsibilities also include troubleshooting application issues and/
or data issues as needed.

The Senior Data Warehouse Architect responsible for production support (may
include on-call duties in a 24x7 environment) on current and new projects
as.

Conduct research and perform complex analysis to address a variety of
issues as they arise.

Must have be able to provide high quality solutions that promote efficiency
and enterprise-wide standardization.

Must demonstrate the ability to mediate and bridge the relationship between
technical and business stakeholders without compromising the needs of the
solution users and the strategic goals of the organization.



*Required Qualifications:*

Minimum of 10 years of applicable work experience required working in a
Data Warehouse environment;

Minimum 7 years working within the Cognos environment

Minimum 2-5 years functioning as a team lead.

Experience working with local state and federal agencies a plus

Preferred technical experience includes strong knowledge of
state-of-the-art software engineering approaches in design, build, test,
debugging problems, and ongoing technical support, and ability to
articulate examples of workflows and processes associated with that
experience.

Hands on experience with environment upgrades from Cognos 8.4 to 10.2 and
previous versions.

Hands on experience dealing with end users and

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Working knowledge of Unix operating systems and Oracle database is required.

Deep expertise with Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, TFS, SharePoint,
.Net and SSIS technologies.

Good understanding of HIPAA data Privacy and Security requirements and
industry best practices.

Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving
environment.

Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.

Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.

Experience with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
