*Job Description**:*
This position will be responsible for design, construction, and support of
an enterprise data warehouse and its associated data marts and reports. The
position will work with internal and external clients to analyze and
document the requirements that drive the warehousing solution. The position
will work as a part of a team including business analysts, architects, QA,
and business stakeholders. Development will primarily be done using
Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS) and could also include
some open source solutions and third party tools.
We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, can work with high
level direction, is well versed in data warehouse design, can mentor
others, thinks about business value of technology solutions, and is a clear
and concise communicator.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*

   - Be responsible for data warehouse and reporting design and
   implementation, supporting overall enterprise architecture and technology
   vision.
   - Design and implement ETL processes to feed the data warehouse and
   associated data marts.
   - Perform logical and physical data modeling.
   - Develop strategies for ETL auditing, load balancing, exception
   handling, and handling large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
   - Research and troubleshoot application problems.
   - Make sure that non-functional requirements (security, performance,
   usability, supportability) are identified and satisfied.
   - Provide accurate and complete development estimates for projects,
   commensurate with available information.
   - Adhere to the Merrill development methodology, following best
   practices for coding, testing, systems acceptance, change control, and
   security.
   - Work with manager, business stakeholders, and peers to proactively
   suggest areas of improvements and enhancements.
   - Effectively communicate changes or disruptions to the schedule,
   resetting expectations (as needed).
   - Operate autonomously or as part of a team, based on the needs of the
   project.


*Minimum Education:*

   - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.  Relevant industry experience and
   demonstrated technical achievement can serve a substitute for a degree.


*Minimum Experience:*

   - 7+ years of relevant IT industry experience, including requirements
   analysis, data warehouse design, ETL development.
   - 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft business intelligence
   products such as SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS.
   - Solid understanding of data warehousing fundamentals including OLAP
   cubes, ETL processes, star schemas, etc.
   - Experience working with multiple data formats including relational
   data bases, XML, CSV, etc.
   - Working proficiency in C# and Microsoft .NET platform.
   - Excellent coding skills – demonstrated ability to write code that is
   easy to maintain and that adheres to Merrill’s best practices.
   - Track record of working effectively on a cross-functional team.
