*Position: Network Engineer* *Location: Hopkinton, MA (Locals only)* *Duration: 6 month contract* *Face to Face interview* *GENERAL SUMMARY:* Candidate will be qualifying and supporting use of Ethernet Switches in client’s products. The individual will be working under minimal direction, exercising considerable latitude, and providing technical expertise in developing solutions that require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. Assignments may include new products as well as upgrades and enhancements, or fixes to existing products. *PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* o Leads with minimal direction the functional validation of embedded switch products. Responsible for writing/updating and coordinating the creation of validation plans. o May interface with supplier community. o May be required to lead the development of solutions to complex engineering problems, which requires regular use of ingenuity and creativity. o Significant contributor to organizational goals and objectives. o Collaborates across all disciplines (hardware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, SBM etc.) to ensure product requirements are being implemented to meet program goals. o May assume lead role on a cross-functional team. Sphere of influence likely to extend outside of their own functional organization. Education Required: Bachelors (Technical) or equiv. experience, Experience Required: 4-5 Yrs *Skills:* o Experience in Ethernet Network Solutions, including test, configuration, and deployment o Recent Experience with 1G, 10G, or 40G Switching Platforms o Proficient in Ethernet Protocol Standards and use. o Competent in Linux IO Utilities and Scripting o Experience with Ethernet Network Validation Equipment o Experience in HW design or SW architecture of high speed Ethernet solutions desirable o Ability to work in or lead a team to debug and resolve complex HW/SW problems. o Takes initiatives to investigate and drive issues to closure. o Understanding of business environment. o Ability to work in a team environment. o Strong communication and presentation skills. o Ability to influence/mentor others to achieve results. o Ability to multitask.
