Title: Sr. Java Engineer(Client Side Development) Duration: 6-months+ Location: Chicago, IL · Sr. Java Engineer with very strong client side Java development skills. · Your skills are needed to assist a large financial trading company (CBOE) located in downtown Chicago, IL. · In this role you will work within the Systems Development Group designing, developing and implementing client side applications that interface with the clients' core trading platform (Command). · These applications are consumed by the Operations and Help Desk Groups to provide real-time monitoring / alerts / alarms for trading system activities. · Additional development activities will be in support of enhancements for GUI interfaces to the trading systems, GUI interfaces to components of their proprietary Instrumentation Collection System, as well as Health Monitoring Systems and Risk Control applications. · The ideal candidate will have a strong OO analysis/design/development in Java Web Technologies using a distributed architecture. · You should expect a 50/50 mix of Frontend and Backend development. Required Skills: - 8+ years experience in Java based Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and programming throughout the entire SDLC - 5+ years experience in Java based web technologies (JavaScript, Dojo (or Bootstrap), Jquery, CSS). - Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing on a business and technical level - 2+ years of client application development experience using Java and Swing is a plus (Used in some legacy applications as an API/GUI for Java programs) - Experience in application development using the client's Foundation Framework (similar to EJB) and CMI (a CORBA based API) - is a plus! - Experience in SCRUM and Agile project development methodologies is a plus. - Financial industry experience is a plus. - Knowledge of trading or financial exchanges systems is a plus!
