Maintain database performance through proactive monitoring and recommend and implement improvements following organizational standards. Identify and troubleshoot live database system issues. Perform installation/patching of Oracle software as needed. Respond to system alerts and perform root cause analysis and participate in an on-call rotation. Document and follow operational procedures. Perform database backups and refreshes and recovery using RMAN. Maintain Oracle Active Dataguard environment. Troubleshoot Oracle ASM issues as needed. Performance tuning including capacity planning and sizing. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner. Self-Motivated with the ability to handle multiple projects with varying deadlines. Mentor and training of less experienced staff. Qualifications/Requirements Minimum 5 years Oracle DBA experience Experience with Oracle RAC in a Red Hat Linux environment. Experience managing maintenance plan activities including backups, indexing, integrity and consistency checks, etc. Must be able to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and effectively.
