Title:: Software Development Engineer ll Client: Expedia Duration: 7 months C2C Rate: $65/hr max Interview- In person preferred, Skype is possible *Position: * * General Responsibilities: * *Design, develop, debug, and modifies components of software applications and tools. * *Drive technical direction at the application/product level for small to mid-sized projects. Design, spec, schedule and provide quality implementation of a component or feature (typically 1-3 months in duration). Provide alternative solutions to a given problem. Resolve problems and roadblocks, with management assistance if required. Follow through on details and drive issues to closure. * *Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique work of self and others. * *Work collaboratively with all members of technical staff. Collaborate with program management and testing peers in the development of assigned components. * *Participates in and provides input to requirements definition. Usually provides solid judgment calls and tradeoff analysis.* *The Marketing Technology team is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to work on Travel Portal exclusively built for Travel Agents. * *On this team, you will utilize your critical thinking and technical skills to help directly drive Expedia�s success and will be instrumental in leading Expedia�s expansion into critical partnership and affiliate businesses including co-Branded relationships, Metasearch Partnerships, and other critical external and internal relationships Responsibilities: * *- Design and collaborate on development tasks on the portal. * *- Have a strong eye for the operational aspects of the platform such as deployment, performance tuning and monitoring. * *- Deliver a lot. * *Use your ingenuity, first class engineering skills and deep technical knowledge to deliver features and improvements efficiently. * *- Work with our customers to help them adopt our features. * *- Interact with Program Managers and Test Engineers to contribute to and review functional specifications and test cases * *- Be a role model to the other engineers. Demonstrate leadership and ownership by example. * *- Influence the engineering practices within and beyond the MTT team. Qualification * *- Proficiency in Java and Spring MVC framework.
