*Role:* System Engineer *Location*: El Segundo, CA *Duration*: 18 months *Interview Mode*: F2F *Visa: h1b* *Note: The position is more focused on design, and not actual coding. * *Job Description:* *PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * • Create STB System Specifications and Requirements Specifications for new STB software features. • Provide creative solutions to challenging technical problems. • Define overall STB system design and solution. • Contribute technical analysis for end-to-end system requirements, design and interface specifications. • Provide complete system specifications and API for STB software architects. • Review and provide feedback on QA test plans and test cases. • Review and prioritize projects schedules on a weekly basis with management. • Establish and maintain partnerships with cross functional groups. • Must be able to work full-time in El Segundo. *EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * • Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science or a related technical experience. • Systems engineer experience, preferably in a Consumer Electronics environment. • Experience with the software development life cycle; from requirements definition to development, integration and test. • Systems-level experience with Linux and/or other multitasking operating systems. • Working-knowledge of networking and streaming protocols. • Familiarity with mobile and social media technologies. • Experience with development of device drivers or firmware for consumer electronic products. • Understanding of Cable or Satellite broadcast technology (e.g. MPEG, transport streams). • Proven track record in creative problem solving including critical and analytical thinking. *SKILLS AND ABILITIES * • Strong interpersonal skills. • Must be able to work well in group/team environments. • Ability to effectively operate in a fast paced environment. • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including qualitative and quantitative skills. • Organizational skills such as facilitating meetings and efficient time management. • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to tailor communication appropriate for an audience, to achieve desired results. *Email is the best way to reach me.* [image: signature-logo (2)] ISO 9001:2008 Certified WMBE Firm 1441 E.
