*Position: BI DEVELOPER* *Duration: 12 Month Contract with extensions* *Location: RICHMOND, VA(Face to face)* *MUST BE ABLE TO INTERVIEW IN PERSON AND HAVE STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS* Experience in creating BI environments (data marts) for end users to do ad-hoc reporting. These are the skills/knowledge/abilities required in priority order. 25% - SQL, in a Microsoft SQL Server environment. Highly proficient, including stored procedures, functions, views, DDL, etc. If they need a GUI to write SQL, this is not the job for them. Will be asked to hand code various SQL scripts as part of the interview process. 25% - Data Warehouse. Familiarity with OLAP, dimensional modeling, data marts, and other concepts. Recent BI tool experience (last five years), by order of preference: MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, others, and experience with SSAS and MDX. 15% - SSIS, creating/modifying moderate-high complexity packages. Experience with package and project deployment model preferred. BIML knowledge a plus. Will be expected to begin working on packages and SSIS projects immediately. 15% - Verbal communication skills, then written skills, including especially an understanding of how to elicit software requirements and translate them into working products, how to document requirements, how to communicate well with various customers and vendors both verbally and in writing, how to document software bugs and interpret complex design documents. Familiar with data mapping and process diagrams. 10% - SSRS. Ability to create moderately complex reports in a Visual Studio environment. 5% - Data Integration technologies, including especially SFTP, PowerShell, XML, web services, Access, Excel, and to a lesser extent such supporting technologies as HL7, NIEM, JSON, C#. 5% - Source Control especially TFS.
