*Analysis, Maintenance and Support Services:*
1. Support the City’s Solid Waste Information System (SWIS),
collectively defined as the SWIS application software source code and
binary executable, and operations subsystems, provide software maintenance
to accommodate changes in versions of computer operating systems, computer
hardware systems, and the SWIS operations subsystems, to include:
1. JBoss
2. Java Web Start
3. Apache Web Server
4. JReport
5. SVN Repository
2. *Configuration of the SWIS servers, to include: *
1. Application server
2. Report server
3. Web server
4. SVN Repository
1. Make changes to the SWIS system only after describing the proposed
change in writing to the City’s SWIS System Manager, and after obtaining
permission from the City’s SWIS System Manager to make the change.
2. Provide training and knowledge transfer to the City specified
resources before the Agreement expires. This includes providing
documentation, technical discussions and personal training if necessary.
3. Development of specifications, models and guideline for the
frameworks within SWIS.
*General Requirements*
1. Ability to report, in person, to offices for work performed during an
enhancement project, or scheduled support or maintenance.
2. Provide at least one current contact phone number to the SWIS System
Manager for use at any time between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM CT Sunday through
Saturday.
3. Perform work on the SWIS system in such a way and/or at such a time
so as to minimize disruption of SWIS system operation, where reasonably
possible. Includes weekdays after 6:00 p.m. CT and most weekends,.
4. Use the prescribed timesheet to report worked hours, as follows:
1. For work performed during an unscheduled support or maintenance
incident, the Contractor must submit the Timesheet to the liaison within
two days of the end of the incident.
2. For work performed during an enhancement project, the Contractor
must submit the Timesheet bi-monthly, defined as work completed
through the
15th day of the month and work completed between the 16th day of the
month and the last day of the month, when applicable.
General* Information on SWIS Application:*
SWIS is an application that integrates customer information, route
information, tonnage information and inventory information to provide
customer service, billing, rule enforcement, and route efficiency and
management tools. Multiple screens portray specific information about a
customer's complaint and compliance history for all services, but are
single-keystroke accessible from each other.
- SWIS has a user base of 20 users and has been in production for over
ten years. It has proven to be a robust and stable system with a 99.999% up
time.
- SWIS is a Swing based J2EE application. SWIS is designed to function
under Java 1.6.0_45 and uses Java Web Start to deploy updates to its users.
SWIS is built using Java Swing to provide a graphical user interface (GUI).
Enterprise Java Bean (EJB) is used for the transaction management
- SWIS uses JBoss 6.1.0 as its application server under a clustered
environment.
- Microsoft SQL 2008 server is used for the backend database.
- SWIS has an OLTP environment. Single Relational database that is
replicated for DR. Two Phase commit protocol enabled through Java
Transaction Service.
- One hundred (100+) plus reports within SWIS are processed through
JReport 10 which is a Java based reporting tool.
- SWIS has a Development, Test, QA and Production environment.
