*Job Description*
The data engineer will be expected to work in the agile environment to
rapidly develop Azure Data Warehouse(ADW)-based data platform. Analytics
built on this platform will enable business to make effective and
efficient, data driven business decisions. The ideal candidate will have
expertise working in a team environment implementing data load and
transformations (ETL) for large-volume structured and semi-structured data.
*Basic Qualifications*
- 7+ years of experience in designing and operating very large Data/BI
platforms in a cloud environment
- Strong Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence skills, including:
- Handling ELT and scalability issues for enterprise level data
warehouse
- Creating ETLs/ELTs to handle data from various data sources and
various formats
- Handling process restartability, error handling, and data lineage
- Ensuring strong standards and data processing consistency
- Strong data modelling/design experience
- Capable of investigating, familiarizing and mastering new data sets
quickly
- Experience in dealing with ambiguities to create rational and
functional solution from imperfect requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills in large data
environment
- Experience with building data platform on cloud (ideally Microsoft
Azure Data Warehouse environment)
- Expert in SQL writing in SQL Server/SQL Azure Data Warehouse
- Experience with Microsoft Azure/SQL Server and ideally Azure Data
Warehouse environment
- Self-starter with ability to work with high degree of autonomy, while
ensuring collaboration and synchronization with the all on the technology
team
*Preferred Qualifications*
- Passion and creativity – Are passionate about data, technology, &
creative innovation
- Working knowledge of HDFS, and Hadoop/Hive and familiarity with big
Data technologies (HBASE, Spark)
- Experience in using one scripting language (Python/Java) to solving
data problems
- Familiarity with TV and/or MVPD business and data provides, such as
Nielsen and/or ComScore/Rentrak.
