The primary role of this group is to identify, propose and architect technology solutions to any business problems. All technology solutions must be approved by this team. This position will focus on data architecture solutions definition in many areas* *The Data Architect will be doing the modeling for the rewrite of the warehouse and will deal with governance and metadata, in addition to the following:* *1. Lead his/her team to produce a clear definition of architecture requirements for assigned projects and areas of responsibility.* *2. Retain working knowledge of the technology environment in use at BBVA Compass as well as working relationships with the functional area experts.* *3. Broad understanding of multiple database and warehouse technologies, integration methodologies and best practice implementations.* *4. Ensure his/her team establishes functional and technical designs in compliance with IT enterprise standards.* *5. Works to build and maintain relationships across the BBVA Compass organization on architectural directions and technologies.* *6. Educating Technology and Business groups on the architectural aspects and implications of technical and functional decisions.* *7. Work with project teams to determine technology architecture. For some projects, serve the technical lead function.* *8. Coordinate as necessary with the BBVA Architecture organizations.* *Qualifications* *BS degree required – Computer Science, MIS, Math or Engineering degree commensurate with experience. * *Four plus years’ experience in the fields of enterprise data and analytical solutions in a complex environment.* *Banking or financial sector experience desired.* *Must be able to lead multi-functional work teams.* *Technical skills to include: * *Dimensional modeling and SQL * *Big Data concepts and technologies including HDFS, Kafka, Spark, Streaming and no SQL databases.* *EDW, Informatica ETL tools, Java, Rational tool suite, TCP/IP, Solaris, MS SQL, Web Services, Windows.* *AWS, Cloud architecture, Agile methodologies and devops experience a plus.* *Communications skills with Lines of Business as well as other technical and non- technical staff is a must.
