Job Description
The Senior Java Developer (CONSULTANT) will join a team of employees and
consultants in providing development and support of new applications that
will be used for risk-adjusted performance of various investments. These
are Alpha applications meaning that their purpose is primarily to measure
the difference between the investment return and the benchmark return. The
applications will be created using Java/J2EE and deployed on BEA/Oracle's
WebFusion /WebLogic Server with an Oracle 11g back end. The Senior Java
Developer (Consultant) will be heavily involved with the technical operation
of this suite of Java applications and Oracle components. The desired
individual is one who possesses strong technical analysis, design, and
development skills. The ideal candidate should be effective in formulating
and communicating creative ideas and alternatives for dealing with complex
technical challenges.
Required Experience
* Must have strong experience in both server-side and client-side
development using the required technologies listed above
* Must possess software design and development experience
* Must have strong data analysis and SQL skills
* Must possess the ability and desire to research and resolve issues
in a timely manner
* Must be able to work independently with little supervision
* Experience or education in finance is preferred
Daily Activities
* Design, develop, deploy, and support components for Java web-based
applications
* Design, develop, deploy, and support high/medium complexity PL/SQL
code and SQL scripts. Troubleshoot database and Java application issues
across multiple tiers and resolve them in a timely manner
Education
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
