We are looking for a SAP BI/BW Architect for a position in St. Louis, MO.
This is a contract to hire position.



*Functional Knowledge:*

* BI Version 7.0 ( Netweaver 2004s)

* BI/BW extractors in FI, Supply Chain and LIS, PSAs, DSOs, InfoCubes,
InfoQueries, and InfoSets (Version 7.0), BEX

* Setup and management of Delta extractors

* Experience in developing Netweaver Portal BI content and roles.

* BI/BW interface with R/3 (ECC 6.0), APO, CRM, and Portal.

* SAP functional modules

* Supply Chain - SD/LO/MM/PP and LIS

* Financial modules in PS/PM/GL-SL, PA, CO

* SAP Basis and Development Workbench

* Data Dictionary / ABAP Programming Experience

* Experience using ETL tools



*Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities:*



* Overall BI system architecture design and performance optimization

* Monitor of system housekeeping aspects traditionally associated with Basis
such as managing indexes, table space growth, archiving and BI statistics
analysis.

* Manage and perform tasks related to system upgrades and hotpacks.

* Understanding/familiarity with BW 7.3 and migration of BW 7.0 to BW 7.3

* Lead efforts with internal customers to analyze and translate business
requirements and functional specifications into technical specifications,
data flow diagrams and data models.

* Lead efforts to implement SAP standard BI content (where possible) to
satisfy business requirements or enhance/customize where necessary.

* Design and develop extractors, DSOs, cubes and reports including the use
of ABAP where necessary.

* Identify security requirements, including creation of new roles and/or
addition to existing for given business.

* Develop work plans and realize stated milestones/deliverables on time and
on budget.

* Coordinate activities with various business and technical leads on other
teams such as Basis Admin, CRM/APO, and SAP Application development teams.

* Coordinate/delegate technical activities, tasks, milestones and
deliverables to assigned project resources or perform activities where
necessary.

* Lead and participate in the creation of BI/BW development standards while
adhering to department policies, methodologies, standards, and guidelines.

* Proactively and effectively communicate potential problems, recommended
solutions and progress.

* Work directly with SAP identifying and resolving "bugs" and requesting
improvements in functionality.

* Identify the need for and coordinate ABAP support.

* Help develop and manage SAP BI/BW implementations, upgrades and related
test plans across the Enterprise.

* Provide guidance to the business process owners/users including
acquisition, development and delivery of SAP training and reports.

* Manage data changes, corrections and transports (CTS) and security/access.

* Provide business customers expert trouble shooting and problem resolution.

* Support Bex Reporting and Netweaver IP/BPS tools * including write Bex
queries

* Fill gaps in SAP functionality by designing and implementing solutions or
by finding appropriate third party "bolt-on" software

* Evaluate tools for migration from Hyperion to next generation Financial
Consolidation tools, and implement if selected.

* Mentoring Peers



*Competencies/Skills Required:*



* Experience as Lead Architect on BI Solutions

* Demonstrated ability to lead business reengineering efforts

* Strong systems analysis and design skills

* Project management skills

* Broad knowledge of information technology and a high level of experience
in applying and using such tools with respect to SAP

* Export of data into other non-SAP BI systems such as COGNOS

* Effective training skills

* Experienced in SAP capabilities including

- BI Design and Development

- Functional knowledge (BI/Netweaver/Portal/SD/MM/PP/FI)

- Data hierarchy/management

- Integration points

- Programming skills

- Building interfaces

- Knowledge/application of SAP tools

- Troubleshooting/problem solving

- Quality assurance

- Documentation

- Data Warehousing Tools

- Exporting and Importing data to / from non-SAP Systems



In depth knowledge of other SAP ECC modules is considered a plus (SD, MM,
FI, CO, PM, PS, PA, etc.)



*Technical Skills in at least 7 of these Areas:*



* SAP ABAP (Traditional)

* BI / Data Warehousing with emphasis on Supply Chain Applications, and
knowledge of Financial Applications

* Object Oriented Programming (SAP Objects)

* BI Version 7.0 (aka Netweaver 2004s)

* Knowledge of Relational Databases and

* Optimization of Multidimensional Database structures

* Data warehousing workbench

* MS Access

* Portal 7.0





*Other Considerations:*

* Minimum of 10 years experience in an SAP R/3 Technical Environment

* Multilingual capabilities in English, Dutch, French and German are a plus.

* SAP BI Certification

* Travel is generally less than 10% depending on project work
