3-5 Years of progressive networking experience and server support, Network
Operation Center experience preferred. A working knowledge of the network
hardware and software in the following areas – firewalls, remote access,
SMNP tools, servers, routers (Cisco), switches (Cisco) hubs, TCP/IP
protocol, IP addressing schemes, DHCP and DNS services is required.

·         The Surveillance organization is the group chartered with overall
network operational availability, using state of the art Network Management
tools. All events that occur on the Data Networks will be seen by these
individuals and reacted to, first by opening a Remedy trouble ticket and
resolving or escalating issue to fruition.  Incumbent must exhibit strong
communication and interpersonal skills, and project management   A working
knowledge of the network hardware and software in the following areas –
firewalls, remote access, SMNP tools, servers, routers (Cisco), switches
(Cisco) hubs, TCP/IP protocol, IP addressing schemes, DHCP and DNS services
is required.

·         Familiarity with network diagnostic tools: sniffer.

·         3-5 Years of progressive networking experience and server
support, Network Operation Center experience preferred.



*ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION*



·         Perdue is bringing in house the responsibility to monitor the
data network.  Today the network management is outsourced 100%.  This
position is necessary to monitor, detect, analyze, and invoke the proper
recovery procedures resolve network outages, and respond to service
requests and response time issues.

·         Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, analyzing, and
troubleshooting of all systems within Customer’s Infrastructure including
LAN/WAN, and telecommunications systems.

·         This is a globally accessible, high availability, fast paced and
business critical 24x7 environments. The operations functions are
accomplished by using monitoring tools (i.e., HP Open View, Solar Winds,
Cisco Works, etc.) relative to the activities across the Enterprise.

·         A key responsibility includes the effective and accurate
communication, both oral and written, of initial problems with timely
follow-through on fault isolation progress, appropriate escalations and
final resolution reporting. Communications paths include users, peers,
management and customers and associated vendor trouble reporting systems.

·         Actively support the Quality Improvement Process (QIP) and
demonstrate commitment through the use of its concepts (teambuilding, Zero
Defects, etc.) and tools (measurement, process models, ECR, etc.)

·         Maintain and support a fully functional network that meets or
exceeds defined SLA’s.

·         Assist with educating more junior associates with the methods and
procedures to improve their networking and trouble-shooting skills.

·         Strong work knowledge and troubleshooting skills in the support
of Windows NT and Novell Servers

·         Proactively monitor, analyze and report performance on all
company Intel based systems

·         Create and maintain documentation for technical procedures for
established systems.

·         Proactively monitor, analyze and report performance on all
company AIX based systems
